Common Maldi Calibration Mixtures


This document lists the recipes for common calibration mixtures for MALDI-TOF used in the IU-MSF.

 

4700 Mix

  • 884 µL water
  • 3.6 µL of 1106 µM des-Arg bradykinin (Sigma B-1901)
  • 3.9 µL of 771.3 µM angiotensin I (Sigma A-9650)
  • 9.8 µL of 505.4 µM Glu1-fibrinopeptide (Sigma F-3261)
  • 12.6 µL of 477.7 µM ACTH 1-17 (Sigma A-2407)
  • 49.3 µL of 101.4 µM ACTH 18-39 (Sigma A-0673)
  • 36.6 µL of 273.3 µM ACTH 7-37 (Sigma A-1527)
  • 1 µL of this solution is mixed with 5 µL of 10 g/L α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid in 10:9:1 acetonitrile:water:acetone with 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid. Intense ions are observed @ monoisotopic masses 379.093, 904.468, 1296.6853, 1570.6768, 2093.086, 2465.199, and 3657.929 Th.

Protein Mix F

  • 6 µL 101.3 µM ACTH 18-39 (Sigma A-0673)
  • 7 µL 273.3 µM ACTH 7-37 (Sigma A-1527)
  • 6 µL 100 µM bovine insulin (Sigma I-5500)
  • 45 µL of 100 µM human ubiquitin (Sigma U-2653)
  • 1 µL of this solution is mixed with 5 µL of 10 g/L α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid in 10:9:1 acetonitrile:water:acetone with 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid. Intense ions are observed at average masses 2466.68, 2867.76 3660.125, 4283.38, 5734.51, and 8565.75 Th.
